TED’S BUTCHERBLOCK UNCORKS SUPPORT FOR LOCAL CYSTIC FIBROSIS FOUNDATION DURING 3RD ANNUAL CHARLESTON WINE OPENER

Charleston, SC, April 06, 2006 – On Thursday, April 27, the SC Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation will hold its 3rd annual fundraising event, the Charleston Wine Opener. The event, which is designed to raise money for cystic fibrosis research and care, will be held at the law offices of Pratt-Thomas, Epting and Walker at the Robert Martin House at 16 Charlotte Street. Ted’s Butcherblock, located at 334 East Bay Street in downtown Charleston, is a featured wine and food sponsor and is the retailer for all wines sampled at this event.
During the Wine Opener, festive tasting stations will be set up throughout the venue featuring gourmet cuisine and wines provided by local stores, restaurants and distributors. Ted’s Butcherblock will not only be providing several boutique wines for the event, but will also be providing a selection of cheeses that will be featured in a VIP, pre-event champagne and wine tasting led by Ed Scaplehorn of Terra Blanca Vineyards and Sue Mohle, Wine Director at Ted’s Butcherblock. The evening also features an artisan “marketplace” and silent auction, showcasing local retailers, artisans and designers, as well as live entertainment by Greg Horton and Cole Owens.
A general admission ticket for the event is $50.00 ($35.00 of which is tax-deductible) and the evening’s festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. All food and wine are included in the price, as well as a keepsake tasting glass and journal.
