TED’S BUTCHERBLOCK FEATURES THE CULINARY TRADITIONS OF FRANCE AND A SPECIAL VALENTINE’S DAY DINNER FOR TWO IN FEBRUARY

Charleston, SC, February 01, 2006 – During the month of February, Ted’s Butcherblock at 334 East Bay Street in downtown Charleston takes customers on a culinary voyage to France. The neighborhood butcher and gourmet market will feature classic French dishes as well as special French cheese and wine tastings throughout the month. The February menu includes items such as Black Truffle Chicken Salad and Herb Chevre Panini, Classic French Onion Soup served with a Gruyere Crouton and Vichyssoise. On February 14, Valentine’s Day, Ted’s Butcherblock will offer a special three-course, prix-fixe menu, perfect for a romantic night at home.

  1. Menu D’ Amour: (SERVES TWO)

First Course: Candied walnuts, shaved red onion, English Shropshire blue cheese and fresh raspberries over mixed greens with champagne vinaigrette.

Entrée (choose one): Steamship Beef Short Rib with braising jus served with parmesan-herb mashed potatoes and broccoli Dijon amandine.

Suggested Wine Pairing: Jean-Luc Joillot Bourgogne Pinot Noir

Airline Breast of Chicken with fresh peach & thyme veloute served with a creamy risotto cake and red chard verjus.

Suggested Wine Pairing: Dom. Alain Patriarche Bourgogne Aligote

Dessert: White Chocolate Mousse served with a choice of raspberry port coulis or classic dark chocolate sauce.

The cost of the Menu D’Amour is $45 for two servings or $65 with the suggested wine pairing. Customers may only choose one entrée per order and are asked to place their order by 3 p.m. on February 13. Dinners may be picked up after 3 p.m. on February 14.
